THE PLOUGH's menu reflects our location and respects our pub's heritage. The abundance of quality produce available within Kent offers us a rich and seasonal larder from which to prepare our menu. As a country inn, The Plough has been serving food to hungry travellers for centuries. An absence of modern technology and transport links would have ensured a seasonal menu that truly reflected THE PLOUGH's location. The motives for continuing this tradition may differ but our approach ensures a seasonal menu that champions some of the quality produce available within Kent. THE PLOUGH enjoys the close relationship it maintains with its suppliers allowing the menu to be formed naturally based on the availability of produce. Since joining THE PLOUGH Head Chef Alex Windebank has formed relationships with new farmers and suppliers to source the best produce available for our menu.
Some of our local food suppliers include: Hinxton Farm Dairy, Farmer Palmer, Monkshill Farm, Hedges of Whitstable, Griggs of Hythe, Harefield wild food, Canterbury Cheesemaker, Snoad Farm, Seasalter Lamb, S.W.Doughtys of Doddington.
