With the abundance of fruit and veg available year round on supermarket shelves you may well ask why you should care what is in season. In-season food is normally fresher,nutrient rich, cheaper and tastes better. Whilst purchasing only in season foods can present a challenge we can all eat healthier and support our local farmers by ensuring a portion of our shopping is in-season and local. Farmers markets, good quality local greengrocers or PYO are great ways to purchase in-season.
At THE PLOUGH we purchase our fruit and veg direct from local farmers and from Macknade who can guarantee the provenance of their produce.
